MEP needs your vote!

We have been shortlisted by Ulster Bank’s, Skills and Opportunities fund to deliver a much needed Enterprise project in Rathcoole Newtownabbey but we need YOUR help to get through to the next stage. Please spare literally only a minute of your time to vote for Mallusk Enterprise Park.

We’d like your help to start Shore to Shore creatives, an enterprise designed to inspire potential entrepreneurs to take the next step and turn their hobby into a business. We’ll introduce local artists and craftspeople to enterprise, teach them business skills, show them how to commericalise ideas and develop confidence, and provide mentoring to help them develop a portfolio and exhibit their work.

This project will focus on developing economic activity in one of the most deprived NRA’s (Neighbourhood Renewal Areas) in Northern Ireland, giving 30 artists access to business workshops and 10 an intensive package of support designed to help them initiate and grow a successful enterprise.

Our proposed  ‘Shore to Shore Creatives’ initiative aims;

To introduce local crafts people / artists to enterprise
To teach them the skills needed to survive in business via a series of workshops
To commercialise ideas and to develop confidence and resilience via 1-2-1 mentoring
To assist in the development of a professional portfolio of work
To offer participants the opportunity to exhibit and sell their work

Pictured above is MEP business adviser Colleen McAreavey who drafted the bid alongside some of the ladies from Newtownabbey Womens’ group who are the prospective beneficiaries of this funding.

Thanks in advance for your support!
