Mallusk Enterprise Park launches Children’s Art Competition to Encourage Local Businesses this Christmas

Calling all budding artists!

Mallusk Enterprise Park has launched an exciting competition to let local primary school children show off their creative talents and to encourage local businesses this Christmas.

Emma Garrett CEO of local enterprise agency Mallusk Enterprise Park, said: “We are inviting local primary school children to enter our Art Competition for the chance to have their artwork displayed in the Park at our Christmas Market event, on our online channels and to win prizes from our local businesses.”

“The competition brief is to produce an artwork of their favourite local business or social enterprise and we hope that our local business community will be encouraged to learn that what they offer features favourably in the minds of our local youth. We, as an enterprise agency are calling on local people to support local, buy local and shop local this Christmas and we look forward to bringing favourite enterprises to the front of minds to encourage spending within the local economy.”

There are three competition categories; primary one and two, primary three to five and primary six and seven. Each age category will have an overall winner and two runners up.

The competition will run to 5pm on 30 November 2022 and winners will be announced on the evening of 1 December 2022 at the Mallusk Christmas market event.

All local children, primary school aged are encouraged to enter and all they need to do is produce an A4 landscape piece of their own unique artwork. The choice of art is up to each individual and can be a hand drawing, a painting, graffiti or digital art.

Each of the winners will have an image of their piece of art displayed in the brand new Enterprise Hub at Mallusk Enterprise Park and on social media. Winning entries may also be used in future marketing campaigns.

To submit an entry or for more information, please visit https://mallusk.org/events/ or email: enterprisehub@mallusk.org

As well as the winning artworks the Mallusk Enterprise Park Christmas Market features over 20 local traders – from food & drink to arts and crafts, a free Santa’s grotto and complimentary festive drinks and food nibbles. DJ music will be supplied by tenant of Mallusk Enterprise Park: Audio Level.

The free to attend evening event to support and showcase local entrepreneurs will facilitate donations to collectively build a festive food tree for Newtownabbey Food Bank, a Christmas present tree for Cash for Kids and a raffle will be held to collect funds to help the work of the Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice.
