Responsibilities

  • Greet Customers: Warmly welcome customers as they enter the deli.
  • Take Orders: Efficiently and accurately take food and beverage orders from customers.
  • Provide Information: Answer questions about menu items, daily specials, and promotions.
  • Handle Complaints: Address and resolve customer complaints in a professional manner, escalating to a supervisor if necessary.
  • Sandwich and Salad Preparation: Assemble sandwiches, salads, and other deli items according to the shop’s recipes and standards.
  • Beverage Preparation: Prepare and serve coffee, tea, and other beverages.
  • Ingredient Handling: Properly slice, portion, and store deli meats, cheeses, and other ingredients.
  • Following Recipes: Adhere to recipes and portion control guidelines to maintain consistency and minimise waste.
  • Maintaining Cleanliness: Regularly clean and sanitize workstations, equipment, and dining areas.
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and storage procedures.
  • Dishwashing: Wash dishes, utensils, and equipment as needed.
  • Stocking Supplies: Replenish deli and coffee shop supplies, such as cups, napkins, and condiments.
  • Keep track of inventory levels and report shortages or excesses to the supervisor.
  • Operating the Till: Accurately handle credit card transactions, and operate the till.
  • Assisting Team Members: Provide support to other team members as needed, ensuring smooth operations.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Actively participate in training sessions to learn about the shops operations, products, and customer service standards.

Further Information

Although this is a part-time temporary opportunity, hours may be extended, and it could lead to a permanent position. The job advert may end before the closing date if requested by the employer. Salary: £11.44 per hour
