Expert Mentoring Helps Local Entrepreneur Leverage Digital for Business Success

The founder of local Homeopathic Business ‘Solas Homeopathy’ – Carmel Ui Dhomhnaill – a woman committed to changing lives with her holistic approach to healing has developed her digital skills, competence and confidence with the help of an expert Mentor.

Based in Newtownabbey, but operating a ‘hybrid business model’ – offering online and in-person homeopathic consultations, courses, webinars and ebooks the business boasts a customer base from right across the UK and Ireland.

Solas Homeopathy started when founder Carmel Ui Dhomhnaill sought reassurance regarding her son’s recurring chest infections and found help in a homeopath. Inspired by the time and care that the homeopath took to get to know him and prescribe a remedy Carmel completed a short introductory course, after which she then went on to receive a LicBSH in Homeopathy in June 2016.

Explaining how the OPTIMAL business growth support programme has helped her on her business journey. Carmel Ui Dhomhnaill, the brains behind Solas Homeopathy, said:

“Expert mentoring in website design and set-up, marketing, sales and attribution has turned what was a daunting task into something that I now feel competent and confident to use effectively.

Working alongside an experienced person took me away from burying my head in the sand with regards to using good tools, like Google Analytics, that I knew I had at my disposal, to track what works for my’ ideal client’.

The e-commerce skills that I learned and have developed are helping me to determine more of what my target audience need and want from me and seeing exactly where the website traffic is coming from motivates me to keep on top of my marketing to do list.”

She added:

“The OPTIMAL programme brought numerous benefits to my business including the ability to work with an independent person to see a full 360 degree view of opportunities. It gave me a renewed focus to further develop the online side of my business, brought ideas for future development including new courses/webinars and signposted me to networking opportunities. Most importantly though following the programme and my renewed efforts online I have tracked and seen my social media following and website traffic grow steadily.”
